Gazebo Refurbished!

Today I officially finished work on refurbishing our gazebo! The refurbishment officially began on April 14th and the construction aspect of it was done on May 20th, so then it was just up to me to sand down all the old wood and then stain it all. Today I finished staining the final two latices which finally completed the project. Feels good! But now I have a leaking sprinkler that I need to get fixed, and it does not look like it's going to be an easy job....

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a nice Memorial Day weekend visiting family in Vallejo. I got to visit my grandparents and help fix their computer issues, got to see Star Trek: Into Darkness, and went over to my aunt & uncle's house for the holiday celebration. After eating, we all played Minute To Win It games, which were fun. The wind added an extra challenge to most of the games, and I even won one of them for which I won a large bag of delicious sour gummy worms. Thanks again Auntie! And when we headed home, I got to bring a chocolate cake that Grandma made for me.

My Grandfather's Passing

It's a sad day today as my grandfather passed away today after a relatively short battle with cancer. I loved him very much and would visit whenever I was in town, but I still feel like I never got to visit enough.

Contacts

I got contacts today. It's my first time so they had me watch a video and then showed me how to take care of them and how to put them in and take them out. It's tough. It took me quite a while to take them out, maybe like 20-30 minutes, then even longer to put them back in.

Contraband

We went to see Contraband this evening. We both enjoyed it.

Waffles!

We had received a waffle maker for Christmas, so this morning for the first time ever I made waffles. Yes, actual waffles, not the pre-made frozen ones. It was pretty easy and they were so fluffy! I usually put jelly on my waffles, but these ones are way bigger than those frozen ones so after I had finished the first waffle I was done with the jelly. I just couldn't take anymore sweetness, so on the second waffle I put butter.
